Wounds Cut Open (She Bleeds) Poem by Sincair Farrell

Wounds Cut Open (She Bleeds)

Her wounds have been cut open
She is bleeding
Scarred & wounded
Her blood flows like rivers
The world is being flooded with her tears
Teary eyed
She cries in agony
Yet perpetrators of her abuse
Don’t care
Mankind shows no mercy
As if her screams can’t be heard
Spiting in her bleeding face
Continuing to abuse her
Like a heartless abuser
Ignoring her pleas for help
Her heartbeat races
She is screaming like a mother experiencing a traumatic birth
She is severely hurt
Her wounds wide open
Bleeding
Non stop
So badly abused
That she is crying in pain
Soaked in blood
She needs to be picked up
off the ground
Cleansed and healed
To be be safe again
Because the fate of mother earth
If she continues to bleed
The way she is
Doesn’t bear thinking about.
