Writer's Block Poem by Maja Dezulovic

Writer's Block

Writer’s block
You bloody fool!
You think you’re smart,
You think you’re cool!
But I’m the one who invited you
My door was neglected
And left without a lock.

However,
that’s only ‘cause I expected
The Easter Bunny
He’s late!
But I got you
And I don’t think
Your vicious jokes
Are at all funny.
Intruder – you can’t be trusted!

Why do you torment me so?
Words look so bleak
And my writing today
Deserves a place with the meek
And the quality bar is low.

Poems are left unended
Spelling, grammar
And meaningless puns
Unattended.

It all looks foreign to me
I’m stuck in a puddle of mediocrity,
See!

I hope nobody reads them
Word for word
‘cause they’ll choke
And scream
At the time they lost
And think it’s absurd!
