Yearning Poem by Kwai Chee Low

Yearning

I read her letter
Again, so many times
Poet that she was
Her words did rhyme

"Our love's gone,
Let's move on
All my songs
Are now of John"

Our love once unshaken
Now vanished with ease
Like dandelion dust
Blown by the breeze

Love is it not eternal?
Cupid has struck a dastardly blow
How could love turn infernal?
Everything's just a show

I still wander our cherished haunts
Listening to our favorite songs
Though empty and gaunt
Yearning for you still goes strong
