Years Poem by kai en.

Years

The wailing of a baby sounded in his ear.

He carried the toddler and taught him to read.

He brought the toddler cycling at the beach.

He whipped up dishes just for the child.

He went out to the karuang guni to sell newspapers to fill the child’s piggy
banks
.
Sad farewells were said to each other as the child moved away frm his
warm embrace.

7years ago,
He went traveled frm the east to west to teach at his grandchild’s school

He scolded his grandson and his grandson threw his grandfather’s pen in anger.

He took effort in driving to newton to bring his grandson to a lesson

They seldom talked to one another

He went to Britain to look after his youngest grandchildren.

Back frm Britain and started feeling ill

Became very ill.

On that year,
grandson said, I love you grandfather, as he sees the coffin go in.
four years down the road,

the memory is still distinct and clear in his mind, the pain and sorrow is still there.

He cherishes the lessons, the memories and most of all, the love that he neglected.

He learnt to care and help, he learnt to let go.
