Yes! Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Pause...
in the conversation

laughter
& smoke

coiling to
the ceiling

she took out
her powder compact

dabbed at
herself

at first
more to reassure
than to make up.

then decided to create a self.

replaced her lips
with fresh lips

eager to be kissed.

licked
them
lasciviously.

Smiled
(knowingly)
to herself.

She hid her smile
in her compact mirror

like a
secret

snapped shut
with an amazingly loud click.

a little dash
of scent

on the pulse
of each wrist

A little
tantalisingly
between her breasts.

She adjusted
the seam

of a light green
stocking

straightened her
pencil thin skirt.

She knew
she held

his eyes
prisoner

mesmerised by each movement
cutting through
the silence.

Underneath the table
she put a beautifully manicured hand

on his knee
then slyly.. on his thigh.

“Now, where
were we? ”
