The ghost of the past,
Is but a distant memory
A haunting thought;
That erases,
Future melodies

Yesterday cannot be changed.
But the future still lies in your hands
Something that happened yesterday;
Doesn’t mean you cannot stand

Letting go of the past,
Will release your inner strength
Although the scars still remain,
They will fade,
They will stay but they will fade

What makes you strong is letting go,
Of what has happened already
Never be afraid to learn from your mistakes
Or those things that left you unsteady

The ghost of the past
Will only bring you down
But the hope of tomorrow
Will help you stand on your own feet

If you let go of the past;
It will let go of you.
