You Poem by Sandra Kelley

You

Crying makes me feel better
but when held by you
it feels ten times better

I fake a smile today as I have always done when somethings wrong
people don't see through my masquerade
they think its normal me

But you notice somethings wrong
you tell me to show my wrist
I do
nothings there

Your confused you tell me
'but I thought something was wrong'

I tell you
'I wont and don't cut'

you look relieved
I frown and then put on another fake smile

I think as im looking in your eyes
why is it no one can see im hurt broken............
but you

Time goes on
that same girl you saw in school is still there
but with more ice in her eyes and heart
you don't recognize her anymore

She was tired of the abuse
tired of waiting for that hero that never came
tired of sitting
so she ran

Time goes on a bit

that broken ice princess you helped in school
who became an ice queen is now getting married

She isn't a new moon, dark and alone, anymore
she is the sun burning bright with happiness for her new found life and love

But is it fake a masquerade an act
at least you think
she has been hidden and faked emotion for so long its hard to tell

But either way your hurt you wanted to be the one to care for her the one she falls asleep with at night and wakes up to in the morning the one she loved and have a life with

a life together

you find her crying
you ask whats wrong
she runs to you
you hold her as she cries herself to sleep

the next morning she wakes up and smiles seeing you there

she tells you she isn't getting married anymore because someone else stole her heart

as her best friend you ask who

she looks at you and says

You
