You Are My Fantasy

as I sat in the sunshine
You opened the door of my mind
and walked into my heart
Together, we sat
basking in warm, liquid rays
Slowly sipping the 'Champagne of Love'
poured into the crystal glasses
of loving thoughts
which we most lovingly shared
with each other
Wrapped in your arms
we lay on our bed
scattered with red rose petals
drenched in the dews of our love
Sweet words whispered
Promises exchanged
Together forever
side by side
'The Road of Life and Love'

This is a lovely and loving poem. You write in a forthright manner that is totally candid and totally respectful. I like the accumulation of details about what you shared on this day because together they convinced me this is a poem of soulmates. That's what makes it so wonderful: it's not just the accumulated details of a fine afternoon, but proof that people can find this fulfillment. Of course, I don't know if the events are real or imagined, because the poem is TRUE in both cases - it's true as a celebration of love or it's true as a vision of love. And we need both celebrations and visions if we are going to pursue happiness like a shining light! I'm saving this poem. (Report) Reply

poet Alfred Edward Housman

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.
