You Are Not Alone Poem by Silence Dogood

You Are Not Alone

Swallow your pride.
And your righteous dignity.
Life is unfair.
But your not alone.
-
You're so afriad of weakness.
And of finding any hope.
Your afraid to believe.
that things could be alright.
Terrified of perfection.
And a guranteed laugh.
You won't smile.
without pain.
You won't laugh.
Without sorrow.
But your not the only one.
Who faces poverty.
Who can't find the money.
To go out and have fun.
We offer to pay.
But your pride turns us down.
Because your afraid to beg.
To need someone else.
You wish to fight this battle alone.
No friends to help support you.
You desire no crutch.
But someone you'll need us.
And we'll have turned our backs.
because your cold.
Cold as ice.
Cold as winter.
No warmth emanates from you.
You appear empty.
A solid mass of hatred.
Your negativity.
affects us all.
Until we feel the same.
Until we are just as discouraged.
As you have become.
The numbness that encompasses your heart.
Reaches out to our own.
And we run away.
We hide.
Until we are no longer friends to you.
Until we must say our last.
Our final.
Goodbye.
Because though like is unfair.
You are not alone.
