You Are The One I Love Poem by joseph short

You Are The One I Love

I looked at you across from the room and I wonder if you notice me,
It’s been a long time since we have seen each other at all,
But I still miss you like the day you left me in that old rusted pick up,

Are you still as loving as when we first met in that old store,
Can you still feel my passion in my eyes? It still burns for you!
And it always will because you are the one I love,

I can’t seem to find any other direction but the one I’m going in,
And that direction keeps leading me back towards you,
It’s in the way you do what you do, it keeps me coming back,

Baby are you still as loving as you were when we first met in that old store,
Can you still feel my passion in my eyes? It still burns for you.
And it always will because you are the one I love,

You are and always will be the one I am deeply in love with,
I can’t find any one other than you I would rather be with,
It’s your name I shout out in the night when I wake up from a bad dream,

I can’t stand the fact you are gone,
I see the way you turn back to look at me and I cry,
Because I see you at the side of another man and it’s not right,

Baby are you still as loving as you were when we first met in that old store,
Can you still feel my passion in my eyes? It still burns for you.
And it always will because you are the one I love,

Every time you look at me I am more convinced you feel the same,
But yet you still are in his arms,
I shake my head at the thought but it is yours not mine,

Baby are you still as loving as you were when we first met in that old store,
Can you still feel my passion in my eyes? It still burns for you.
And it always will because you are the one I love,

You are the one I love.
