You Broke Their 'Image' Rule! Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

You Broke Their 'Image' Rule!

Twice you've paid it.
That price.
To be nice.
And polite.
But the people you baited,
Decided...
They wanted to see,
That side that fights.

Twice you've paid it.
That price.
To be nice.
And polite.
But the people rated,
You much too light!
And they decided,
Amongst themselves to fight!

Whatever that was you had eroded...
Those warm shoulders to freeze cold.
Whatever that was you showed them, molded.
And corroded your bold hold.

You've been demoted,
To a warting toad.
Now the people want you scolded...
For what they chose you sold!

Twice you've paid it.
That price.
To be nice.
And polite.
But the people you baited,
Decided...
They wanted to see,
That side that fights.

Now...
Divided they delight to fight,
Among themselves.
Blaming with claims they raise...
You duped them with your cool.
They see themselves as fools.

Divided they delight to fight,
Among themselves.
Blaming with claims they raise...
You duped them with your cool.
They see themselves as fools.

Divided they delight to fight,
Among themselves.
Blaming with claims they raise...
You duped them with your cool.
They see themselves as fools.

Twice you've paid it.
That price.
Now...
Divided they delight to fight,
Among themselves.
Blaming with claims they raise...
You duped them with your cool.
They see themselves as fools.
You broke their 'image' rule!
And for them that is not cool...
At all!
