You Came Into My Life (Cori) Poem by rhian fitzpatrick

You Came Into My Life (Cori)

You came into my life,
One early day in May,
I'd only just turned 16,
So i was scared in every way.

Then you arrived,
I smiled so wide,
You were such a beautiful little child,
I could have burst with joy and with pride.

Your Eight years old now
And youve done me proud
Your smart & funny
With a smile to boot.

We've been through the mill
Lifes not been easy
But you kept me strong
& i know thats wrong cause
i should have been strong all along.

I owe you my life son,
to a degree you'd not understand,
but this promise ill make you,
to protect and to love you
to hold your hand.

When your afraid,
scared or alone,
ill be right there
fighting your deamons
making sure you find your way home
