You Can'T* Poem by Thistle Wargul

You Can'T*

Why, when I fight so hard,
Do I only get the blame?
Why, when I try so hard,
Do I only feel the pain.
What is it about me
That makes so many hate me,
And ignore me, and use me,
And abuse me?

Sexist, racist, ageist gits,
You deserve each other,
Deserve to fall.
We’re all human beings, we can all feel pain,
So why do you laugh
When we burn?
Why should me appearance, my gender or race,
Give you the right,
The authority
To hate me and break me,
To beat me and cheat me?
So just get lost,
You miserable gits.

Why is it so hard to give some respect,
Why did my talent mean I had to suffer?
Don’t want your opinion, don’t care what you say,
You ain’t even worth the time of day.

You tried to break me, tried to destroy me,
I’m sick of pretending to be what I’m not.
Don’t say that you’re sorry, ‘cos I don’t believe you,
I know that you don’t really care at all.

Sexist, racist, ageist gits,
You deserve each other,
Deserve to fall.
We’re all human beings, we can all feel pain,
So why do you laugh
When we burn?
Why should me appearance, my gender or race,
Give you the right,
The authority
To hate me and break me,
To beat me and cheat me?
So just get lost,
You miserable gits.

I won’t lie again, I refuse to sit back
While you ignore all my effort as if I’m not here.
If you won’t accept me, then some-one else will,
I’ll carry on fighting with all of my will.

I hope that you’re ready, ‘cos I’m gonna pull through,
I’m gonna prove you wrong, and you’ll look like a fool.
So take it or leave it, the choice is yours,
You’ll want to be far away when it falls.

Sexist, racist, ageist gits,
You deserve each other,
Deserve to fall.
We’re all human beings, we can all feel pain,
So why do you laugh
When we burn?
Why should me appearance, my gender or race,
Give you the right,
The authority
To hate me and break me,
To beat me and cheat me?
So just get lost,
You miserable gits.
