You Elude (As I Pursue) Poem by Colin Coplin

You Elude (As I Pursue)

Rating: 4.0

I’m a fool, I’m a fool, I’m a fool

Room after room, I roam
Looking for you, I go
Hoping someday I do
But you elude as I pursue

Two fools am I, yes I know
For loving, and for saying so
But looking for you, through this eternity
Makes three fools of me

I’m a fool, I’m a fool,
And I deserve all that happens to me
I’m a fool
Three prized fools are me

Bar after bar, I carve
My name on lonely hearts, then part
Hoping one day I find you
But I never do
You elude as I pursue

True love’s hard to find
A quest we all go on in life
Night after night, like a moths to light
Hoping to find love tonight

Two fools am I, yes I know
For loving, and for saying so
But looking for you, through this eternity
Makes three prized fools of me

I’m a fool, I’m a fool,
And I deserve all that happens to me
I’m a fool
Three wise fools are me

Room after room, I roam
Looking for you, I go
Hoping someday I do
But you elude as I pursue

I'm a fool, I'm a fool, I'm a fool
Three prized fools are me
