You Have Grown Up Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

You Have Grown Up

I held my breath and prayed that all would be well
Your belief in yourself, is something I loving adore
Today I came upon a realization that astonished
You’ve grown into an adult … destined to explore

Goodness reflects in your eyes, from all that surrounds
You are expressing goals with celestial latitudes
A transformation took place while I was sleeping
Your smile continues to confirms a hopeful attitude

Now I smile admiringly, and I no longer hold my breath
Your confidence is reassuring …I wish you the best
Your independence reminds me of an old wise adage
When young birds are fully feathered they fly from the nest
