You Know It Wasn'T Worth It

Rating: 5.0

You know it wasn’t worth it
So why did you try?
You knew it’d only hurt me
Yet you let it fly
You let the ignorance of your mind
Hurt my soul
You left me to cry
With no shoulder to hold
You tried to be big
Mighty and bold
But no one believed you
In fact they treated you cold
So was it really worth it?
Certainly not
But of course you’d disagree
You’d find a way to counteract my logic
Stupefy my words
And turn them into yours
You’d switch sides
Make it seem like I left you behind
That I didn’t have the time
That’s your way of movement
The purpose of your living
You couldn’t breath properly
Unless you hurt somebody like me
And then you don’t stop there
You have to take it far
Crush me down and make me fall
Cause me to feel
As if I was nothing at all
Just a toy you played with accuracy
A sidewalk you rode on, proudly
That same street you walked on?
Well now she’s crying
And inside it’s as if she’s dying
Overreaction is what you’d call it
Dramatic Queen
That’s the label
For anything she screams
Oh it’s just a tale
A cry of wolf
Lies that trail
That fits your vibe
Your ‘show and tell’.
You’ll say I’m just hating
But on what exactly?
On your riches and glory?
Please spare me
I’d rather be poor in love
Than rich in pain
‘cause from the reverse
what do you really gain?
You’re only hurting yourself
Every day that you shame
Everyday that you continuously
Attempt to play this game
A game I have forfeited
Without remorse
Cause frankly I’m tired
Of following your course.
