You Left Me Friend Poem by D.A. Woods

You Left Me Friend

Rating: 4.5

Once we were young, dandy and free,
screaming through the nights like a wild banshee.
We were two of the same and everyone could see,
I was you and you were me.

Same tastes in dreams, women, wine and song,
We were brothers, a bond so strong,
by your side was where I belong,
hoping it would last lifelong.

Tripped together to beautiful California,
Dreams were made upon the Plaza,
We'll form a band to end our trauma,
The end was nigh on our return. karma?

You took what I had, after building our tower,
Guess you think you held the power,
now our freindship has grown resentful and sour,
We never had our greatest hour.

So my friend, are you happy now?
Alone in this life, separately we'll plough,
Years have gone by, not rectified somehow,
So, so long my friend. Goodbye. Caio

some friends come, we wish they would stay like a beautiful sunny day some friends come and quickly they go like the newly fallen snow
