You’re The One Poem by Robert Sheridan

You’re The One

I saw you once upon a midnight’s dream
With your hand held out, love in your eyes
We were both in a never-never world
Running towards each other, hearts touched.

In that instant, a mutual spirit was born
Dancing the night away, light as air
Warm embrace, heavy breathing, lips touched
All the pieces that I’d been searching for finally fit.

When our eyes met, deep down I knew
This was true love, not an empty promise
Saw no shadows, only saw the light
You’re the one that I always needed.

I thought I was lost, misguided
God put you on my path, directed me
We were put together, were meant to be
There’s a time for everyone, I waited patiently.

As I awoke early the next morning
I tried to get back into that dream
Still half-asleep, I looked over and saw you
You’re the one that I always needed.
