You Took My Soft Beating Heart Poem by Dennis Walker

You Took My Soft Beating Heart

You took my soft beating heart
Holding it on a red ribbon in front of you
What is your plan do I stand a chance?
Will it be cast to the ground?
Will it be placed around your sweet neck?

You took my soft beating heart
I gave it to you freely
Your passion over powered me
Making my head spin
My blood boils with excitement

You took my soft beating heart
I see you smile as you hold it in your hand
Letting dangle in front of you
I am but a puppet waiting with anticipation
You look up away form my dangling heart right into my eyes

You took my soft beating heart
Smiling you shake your head slowly from side to side
The ribbon is released the heart falls to the ground
I look at you in shock my mind screaming NO
Lifting your foot you crush my hopes as you slowly crush my heart
