You’ve Taken My Innocence (Male Victim Version) Poem by Daniel Aristotle Potts

You’ve Taken My Innocence (Male Victim Version)

By Daniel Potts

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You made me so vulnerable
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken yeah you’ve taken my Innocence

We struck up a conversation
Till you pointed that gun
you beat me
And you raped me
You guys have taken my innocence
I suffered in silence
Because of fear
Yeah you’ve taken my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You made me so vulnerable
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken yeah you’ve taken my Innocence

I was token from my home
And made a ward of the court
I was raped by the men and women
Who were supposed to protect me?
Made to be a child prostitute
I was sold to the streets
They stole and completely destroyed my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You made me so vulnerable
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken yeah you’ve taken my Innocence

Looking back now I could never have known
That day would be the death of one life
And the beginning of another
He grabbed me in the bathroom
Brought me to the stall
And raped me twice
And he beat me to a pulp
He stole my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You made me so vulnerable
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken yeah you’ve taken my Innocence

We are told men cannot get raped
Were told to man up
And that you know you want it
And that we’re always willing
So it can’t be rape
We live in fear
There is no consequence for raping us

Yeah you’ve taken my innocence
