You Were Firm Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

You Were Firm

Go, go and go
Never to show and forgo
I shall never want you
As you have proved untrue

I believed in
Talk
That we made while walking
It was like claim staking

But you were firm
And in form
With full blossom
I could take off eyes seldom

I held breathe
And strengthened belief
That you were the one
I could select no one else

I pulled you toward
And exchanged word
“Will you hold me permanently”?
You pressed my hand and held it firmly

You Were Firm
