Young Black Beware Poem by Ima Ryma

Young Black Beware

We the People are colored by
Old fears and hates, and taint the young.
The American dream does lie.
Racists are real by hand and tongue.
The justice system is unjust,
Blind to not being color blind,
Not a system color can trust.
Just injustice is stocked to find.
Born black and growing up do learn
Uncivil wrong cheats civil right.
No matter how do gooders yearn,
Black young are victims of old white.

Black children in the U.S.A.
Ill winds will never blow away.
