Young Gideon Leads An Army Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

Young Gideon Leads An Army

Threshing wheat for his father
Young Gideon wondered
Why he and his people
Were hiding in caves
From the enemy.
Before the threshing was finished
An angel of God said to him,
'God is still with you,
God wants you
To lead your people against the enemy.'
Gideon built an altar
To worship God.
He called the altar
'The Lord is Peace.'
Then he went out to lead his people.
