Your Lullaby Poem by Kathryn Garner

Your Lullaby

Rating: 2.8

the worlds changed
and ill sit here waiting for yesterday
thats slipped away
so far gone
and gone so wrong
so ill bid it all goodbye
promising my eyes to dry
just another lie

withdrawl fever from all the loss
and only life by you was the cost
always more green from envy
on the other side
and more blades and depth
from the tears ive dried
countless nevt to being by you

its a kiss goodbye to paradise
goodbye to the words that used to entice
me; so easily
goodbye to the decieveing like from wine
goodbye to the chills running down my spine
ill just be your lullaby
with a promise, as you kill me goodbye

i hope these words mean something
to your ears
because they mean a life gone for me
enticed so easily
by a flame
till my world burned down
kissing the ashes
licking the stratches
and wishing to close my eyes
make it all go away
wishing to close my eyes
lying that im not a stray
because of a promise you never made
that you'd stay

desparate for silence in these memories
that keep whispering
remember me
i know ill remember you
but i believe youve forgot me
though i begged you to remember me

i cant stay
no i cant stay here anymore
when im locked away
wishing for so much more
and i ask myself
is this really what you wanted?
is this really what you died for?
its a yes
and i wish for so much more

but baby, goodbye to your lullaby
as i let these words die
let this simple tune die
goodbye to your lullaby
