Your Nearness Poem by Shyam Chakraborty

Your Nearness

Your nearness that I fancied
Stretching out underneath the night firmament,
The blazing stars and bleary moonlight’s hasty gleam,
The phosphoresce fireflies shimmered in nocturnal winds,
And I was hushed by your whispers
The sound incognito that lifted my eyes…
Almost blank-face in repose leaning beside you
And your musky presence withered my sorrows…
My poignant diction lost its words.
Of beauty I uttered, of grace I talked…
The smouldering voices of bodily ecstasy you brought,
My craving mind kissed your musky physique in haste,
Until the moonlit night shaded in heady clouds
And your face blurred in vague queer gestures,
At last it waned and faded in the night sky,
And my words halted their chase….
