Zero Visibility Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Zero Visibility

I see our trouble as rain.
Pouring, trickling down my windshield
Puddles like oceans sleeping on the fields
The road ahead seems distorted

With my heart on the dashboard
And yours at the dead subcompact
I face the gloomy road ahead,
With my head caving in

I can’t see a thing, sleep looms in my eyes
The treacherous morning dawns,
Whilst the moon breaks, the harlequin sorrow
The Sun smiles and speaks, the breath of tomorrow

The rain, oh the searing rain
Felt like bullets rummaging across the car’s roof
Like jabs on the car door, breaking the silence

I am confused with the rainy haze
I can’t see a thing, I am baffled
I can’t see you either, as rain started engulfing you
Past the street lamps fading in the alley
I am drenched with zero visibility.
