Zoltan And The Golden Calf Poem by gershon hepner

Zoltan And The Golden Calf

When Moses became angry with the Jews
because they’d made a calf from gold that’s molten
he didn’t realize that they would use
the services of their good friend called Zoltan,
an expert in all reparation jobs.
his reconstruction of the Golden Calf
was almost flawless, but the sinful slobs
did not pay all his bill, but only half,
and so he smashed the idol he’d restored,
and told the Jews to drink the molten gold
which now was dust, precisely as the Lord
first wanted them to do, so we are told.

Inspired by the restoration work of Zoltan Papp (artisanrestorationcenter.com) , who on Venice Boulevard has for decades been helping Linda to repair all her broken treasures except me. Zoltan’s clients include Zubin Mehta, Richard Murdoch, Rod Stewart and Nicolas Cage.
