Zzz 7. Our Little Ploopey Poem by Mason Maestro

Zzz 7. Our Little Ploopey

Twenty twelve, second of June
I know your birthday like a funky tune
I can shower you with gifts all day
Like your snacks, face cream or body spray
But nothing can compare to such as this
The best gift of all arrived with such great bliss

We've been blessed with a good life;
Finally a trip was made to Canada with my wife
We went skiing and toured all around
And to Alberta we finally landed on the ground
Back in Shenzhen our Good Times moved on
To Coastal Rose garden even though it cost some yuan

Business is picking up and that makes me proud
Even though we've lost balloons to the clouds
Spades stands guard at our main door
And water is leaking all over our carpet floor
But it's all positive and we're really quite thrilled
Yet none of it can compare to how we're about to rebuild

Our best gift came the morning we knew
My babes came to tell me we're gonna have a little poo
My babes is pregnant and we can't believe it's true
To have our own baby is what I could never undo
Our family will grow to a family of four
And from here on there will never be a bore

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
To my wife. The seventh i've written to her since we first met. Very personal, only shared between us. The series is a sharp contrast to the politically-edged poems of the rest of the works in my collection
