A Reflection - Poem by Robert Knox

Life is unforgettable.
Like a search for something precious and dear, we seek out those moments of starry brightness.
You know, those moments when everything seems right and you can see the world perfect around you.
I would even say you could call it a feeling of serenity. At peace with the stormy heart within and the uncertain path beyond; you feel, at least for a moment, free.
I have felt as if my experience in life is like a bodiless consciousness, streaking across the deep ocean waters. Really, there is so much sameness and uncertain depth, both qualities which the ocean well represents. For me, it is a bodiless consciousness, because I am aware that time moves forward no matter how great the moment.
To idealize, those moments are like a songbird lit on the arm of a bench, beautifully singing. If you catch yourself hearing that song, you can't help but wish that it would go on forever. But it passes nonetheless. Not to diminish the moment or to wrest away its power, but change happens beyond anyone's power.
To hold that moment dear in your heart, to store it away as a treasure for life, means a covenant to pursue even greater. Indeed, it is that moment, like a bursting star in the night sky, that carries you to that next discovery.
No doubt, I am going to change.
Today will never be tomorrow or that day the same. I must depend on God to lead me into something new.
Yet, strikingly enough, God is an epic source of hope...You see tomorrow I change and grow, what I'll be I may never know; but God abundant and true will be the same through and through.
