    Genus irriabile vatum

    Genus irriatabile vatum
    The irritable tribe of poets
Mad, bad and not always that bad to know
Just as long as you don't step on their little creative toes
    Interrupt their precious storytelling time
Lest you want a quill stuck in your eye
A pen stabbed through your heart
    Born to write
Not to talk your nonsense and silly jive
They have better things to do
More productive tales then gossip to spin
Get in their faces and hear them snarl
Take away their writing tools and you had better be ready for a fight
    The fight of your life
For never will they ever back down
Not looking to fight for their right to party
They're not into such trival concerns
    Write even when they're wrong
    Been warned once
    Been warned all
    Don't you dare
Oh no, don't you dare mess around with them
    Genus irriabile vatum
    The irritable tribe of poets

Out There In The Nearby Paddock

The spur winged plovers calling in the paddock nearby
And somewhere in the deep scrub the hunting red fox cry
Perhaps the plovers warn him not to venture too near
To their invisible nesting borders the safety of their vulnerable young cause them to lose all fear read more »

    I Won't Be There

The swallows fly above the old fields all day
And the birds nest and sing in the woods far away
But I won't be there when the Spring is in bloom
And the valley is fragrant with Nature's perfume. read more »

    A Warning

I announce a warning and reminder,
    Posing a new question,
    A simple statement of elegance,
Once ago, it was never said. read more »

    In Fancy I Hear

In fancy i hear the male snipe in his courtship display
O'er the rushy fields on a calm night in May
With his tail as he flies he makes a goat like bleating sound
That echoes in the sky above his breeding ground, read more »

On Hearing A Grey Shrike Thrush Whistling

The grey shrike thrush is whistling a bird i know so well
He sings around his borders as if he wish to tell
Or warn male birds of his kind this is my territory
This patch of ground not your patch is for my wife and me, read more »

    The Threat Of Global Warming

The threat of global warming to human kind is a real threat indeed
And the warnings of climate change experts we'd do best for to heed
Dirty factory chimneys to the sky puffing up smoke
The anger of Nature why do we provoke? read more »

Three Miles East Of The Town

By the babbling creek that flows by the woodland through the high country three miles east of the town
The shrike thrush on a wattle tree is whistlingat twilight just before the sun goes down
And all is well in Mother Nature's garden on a pleasant end to a sunny Autumn day
A memory such as this lasts a whole lifetime and even in old age from you won't fade away. read more »
