like the starless sky
it obstructs your airway

stars blanket the sky
giving light to darkness
then burn out and die

like a sunflower
its petals
bright
and hopeful

this pain is endless
stretching across
time
places
...

eyes
turn from blue
to grey
they fill
...

the hour hand flutters
lucidly in the night
the moon hangs low
low enough to touch
...

coasting through shades
of navy and lightest blue
the empty space around me
thickens
...

the rain streaks down
the pane of dirty glass
it flows languidly lucidly
with no particular destiny
...

the wind rustles
through the lilacs
the birds
flit about
...

I feel cold
desolation
is a broken home
the rain continues
...

my fingers clenched
and tightened
then stretched
like the sinewy roots

I know my place in the world
this is my world
my shooting stars
no one can change me

as I stare into
the yawning abyss
I feel the void
that it creates

drifting
searching
