the simpler life the simpler smiles and of the moors sigh

Kings Without A Crown

The winters remind me of times gone by
the simpler life the simpler smiles and of the moors sigh

In this world of androids and blackberry
Im reminded of a life like icing with cherry

Friends huddled together across a campfire
joking and laughing with beers in hand
at a time when the latest processors were still a grain of sand
and the only tablets around were those that were bitter or bland

Together we watched the sun set over the horizon a mesmerizing scene
The majestic mountains better than the screen saver of a mobile screen

Times go by and people fly
the embers of our bonfire had long left us by
then along comes this social book
and suddenly I was in touch with friends the years had overlooked
Perhaps this field of technology is not bad afterall
It has left me and my friends a bit enthralled

But every once in a while when I see the sun go down
I still remember that life gone by when we were kings without a crown
