Possessed By Poetry

Possessed by the spirits of long dead poets
Demanding and commanding him to write
And always keeping him awake throughout
The long dark interminable nights

They are squeezing out every crimson drop
Of the poetry left within his veins
And sending it trickling down his pen
To fall onto the page like rain

His only only chance for revenge
For all those long tortured years
Is to melt away all their words
With his own salty tears
