Rick Naitoh Poems

When you’re smoking through tinfoil in the morning, it’s going to be a cold day.
When the dragon is in your eyes, and in your lungs, you just can’t let it go.
The needle and the rubber are just an instant number, but the rush is not enough.
Just like quicksand, you are sinking.

Know not I why I desire,
Angry eyes and angry lips.
Not red as rose petals in fire,
But redder are her fingertips.

Tinfoil

When you’re smoking through tinfoil in the morning, it’s going to be a cold day.
When the dragon is in your eyes, and in your lungs, you just can’t let it go.
The needle and the rubber are just an instant number, but the rush is not enough.
Just like quicksand, you are sinking.
The more you flail the deeper you fall.
So just accept, accept and give in.
Just give in and give up.
The rush is not enough, and never will be.
You are blinded by what you can’t see.
So just lay it off a little longer.
Sleep till the shakes are gone.
But the earthquake it builds until your heart stops.
It’s defeated, are you done?
Up in, deep in, down in, ecstasy.
Destruction far away.
There is nothing here but pleasure, and a soft gentle breeze.
It’s going to be a cold day.
