Pittsburg

We go on a road trip to Pittsburg
We go to see her
The cows behind the silver fences own nothing
Someone mistakes them for a dog
I laugh but it isn’t funny
We see trees barely covered in snow
They could use a jacket
We see tunnels called ‘Blue Mountain’
Someone opens their mouth wide and shrieks
In hopes of making it through the mile long tunnel shrieking
Instead we hold our breath a quarter of the way thorough
We get lost in the city
A large clock tells us we are late
When we spot her the hair on her head is noticeably thicker
Her belt covers the signs of college
We don’t hug her
The room is small
The food small
The grocery store is huge
I know when we leave I will feel a sense of longing
That is only because I long after everything.
