A mother's love will always be,
with her baby on her knee.
She watches over him night and day,
and leads him along life's rugged way. She watches him as he grows and goes,
...

You came in my dreams and you kissed me goodbye
You held me in your arms and said please don't cry
Go on with your life and make a new start
You know I have to go and that we must part. I could feel your arms around me that night in my dream
...

Who took the sparkle from your eyes
And the smile upon your face
Did I hurt you so very much
That someone else took my place They took away the smile I loved

A Mother's Love

A mother's love will always be,
with her baby on her knee.
She watches over him night and day,
and leads him along life's rugged way. She watches him as he grows and goes,
away to school and goodness knows.
What will he learn as a child,
he may be meek or he may be wild. As the years go slowly by,
she'll look at him and wonder why,
She was blessed with a son like him,
and gives him to the girl he wins. Through all the years her love is there,
to guide him right in all her prayers.
He grew up to be a man,
to make his way, she knows he can. A mother's love will always stay,
when he's near or far away.
He'll remember the loving hand,
That helped him grow to be a man.
