I said he was wrong
Told him that he didn't
Understand
Who I am
Who I have become
Anger flashed in his eyes
Twenty years of pain
You are not my son
He said

Two miles down the road
I am walking
A pack of smokes
Numbing the hatred
Fuming
Within me

The last five words of our argument
Echo
And I think to myself
This is love.
