I sit with myself everyday.
I think of what could be and what may.
I watch life pass by and sometimes I jump in.
A splash of promising water flushes my skin.

A Knitted Knot.
Tether I have always searched for:
around corners, in holes, beside rocks,
in caves.

Le Petite Poodle

A boy.
Poodle.
Two unlike likenesses.
Small and deceivingly beautiful.
A rugged sense of lovely.

Begged, begging and begged to be put on the leash.
I held out. In fear of the heat. But I knew I would give-in
Eventually.
I simply waited.
Until the time struck.
The poodle gladly fastened onto my leash.

Wagging tail, a smile, from flapping ear to flapping ear,
We were off.
Committed to the walk.

Just a walk.
We took it slow.

Together we strolled, my lap dog and me, my constant companion.
Under the poodle’s own want and accord we moved forward.
Yet, in its true nature, despite its initial demand for the leash,
Our walk continued with a struggle.

Pulling back, walking to the left of my right.
Distracted, so many distractions, everything more exciting than the walk
We decided to take together.

I pull back as the poodle yanks forward.
A teeter of wants.
Always in balance, always in opposition.

We walk.
The poodle and I walk in sync, lest we should be separated.
Le petite pretends to desire freedom, but I know, I remember the begging
Begging for the leash.
We love.
