A Single Rose.
Alone it stands
Yet untouched by human hands.
Out of passions flame is born
Softest petal. Sharpest thorn.
Plucked just once. The moment passed.
Its beauty cannot hope to last.
In time the petals melt away
And as they do
The thorns remain.
