This from the beginning to me was very clear
What does seem very foggy is the reason for the trick

Twisted in the memories of my disease
While my tears fall down like autumn leafs
Holding on to the love that I once had
Makes it hard not to feel unbelievably sad

Ticking, ticking are the hands on the clock

Dying used to be a scary thought,
A far away event
