Numbness

Craving the numbness
I turn inward
Fighting my urges
My urges to do self harm
I care nothing of the sort
For that around me
Once in the state of numbness
I fear for those cravings
And that state of mind
Not sure who I will turn into
Or how far I will go
Afraid that one day my secrets
The secrets I do not even know
Will carry me to my death
A death that will sadden many
Except for myself
For my strength has slipped away
Far enough that my reach
Will send me over the ledge
