Volcanic Dissension

Sheer destruction, my heart receives it's final blow,
Family qualms intensified between loves of my life,
Feelings of bitterness and forgotteness pounding my protective shield,
My world, or so I thought of 23 years, complacent despite my plea's.

The final blow however not cast by blood,
The bitter truth of where my heart resides not recognized,
My failure to correctly extrapolate my feelings rejected,
A small world crashes in all corners as I fail to grasp the lifelines extended.

Shards of bitterness enveloped by seemingly rational thoughts,
Both lovers battle their cases in desperate trials,
Overwhelming feelings of failure choke my every breath,
Why do all great things find its destruction in my path.

More painful than fists against skin, knives severing flesh,
A reaction so disturbed burns every step of what bridge remains,
Words flow like volcanic lava burning all on its wake,
The hole growing deeper, legs not able to assist or sustain.

The final shot has been fired, the wounds deeply set,
I've opened my casket only to find words previously transcribed,
My true love present in you, so warm, so gentle, so able to find its way through my impermeable heart,
I cry out in anguish staring into your lovely face, the eyes of angels sparkling like diamonds,
My casket door closes before my heart can say, I'm so grievously sorry.

I love you...
