Poetry Is My Escape

My poetry is the flow in me
I just want to be heard
So I can feel free as a bird
To show my true colors
I wish I could express myself like so many others
There tails showing every color
While mines show black and white
My personality is duller than a metal pipe
But when I write, my colors range from dark to light
My problems don't seem so heavy
Every poem I write seems like a levy
That pulls me higher, higher, and higher
Out of my pit, my pit of
Mixed emotions and confusion
Each like a tumor, every confession I make turns to a rumor
I tried to stay to my self, and just do me
But I had to let the poetry flow through me and become me
My escape is poetry
