Thinking of those times long gone

Those times whenthings were simpler
...

Through years of suffering this lonesome path
And long slow days of hiding from her icy grasp
Outwardly I remain stable, solid, and lacking wrath
Due only unto the pitiful fact that I idly clasp
...

I remember when the lilacs bloomed for Easter,
In a colder climate than this.
But now as they bloom, not for Easter,
All I can feel is summer's approaching hiss.
...

“Don’t take it too seriously,
Its only puppy love”
My mother’s words often came to mind.
...

I missed you when you passed,
But I did not cry,
I missed you as time passed,
But I did not cry,
...

As my heart beat slows
And my blood stops its flow
I glimpse a second of reprise
But a second, is eternity to My eyes
...

Times Long Gone

Thinking of those times long gone

Those times whenthings were simpler

When one simply felt joy or sadness or anger

Those are the days that I miss

Those days without love and hate

Those days without jealousy or contempt

Those days back when my mind didn’t run slowly

Because of the emotions clouding every single synapse
Those were the days

Back without love or hate

Back when I could look at every

Face, and feel one of the three main

Emotions, but those days are long gone

And now I have to face the world and ascend

Now I have to figure out why I was sent to Earth this time around

I miss those days without complex emotions
I find that I hate love and hate equally

and will never find peace as long as I hate hate

and continue searching hopelessly for love
