its the essence in which we drink

flowers blosseming birds chirping
sunshine breaks through the gaps from trees,
the breeze rippleing through the leaves.

Darkness creeps onto the light
like a very careful thief,
waiting for the right time
to rob us of our sight.

I find temptations hard to battle
I find them hard to resist,
a feeling of vulnerability
as though my hands are tied behind my back.

Reaching the winters bay,
passing over the unmerciful
waves avoiding the rocks,
that are close to the bay.
