Answer Me Why?

Tears of the broken hearted
of the alone
of the voice never heard
of a mask of cement
Inside we all feel alone
hurt
scared
angry
So then why does no one see
that the person beside them
wears a mask too
Why do we wrap ourselves in worlds made of lies?
Why do we not realize that
we're together in that we all feel alone
And if we unwrapped ourselves
from the hard shells of our cocoons
the ones we have called our homes so long
then the world would no longer have no light
that we would no longer be truly alone
and that the night would not be so cold
we would become the butterflies
that we've always trapped inside
