Uneasy darkness envelopes me.

Blinding moments

Oh my God the pain
of desperation
within the walls

We came to this place riding on a sleigh made of our choices
We brought our children along for the ride
The world in which we exist was formed by those choices

Oh Lord have mercy
Hold me close...
Embrace my soul
With your Agape love...

Shirley Hanley Biography

I first discovered I had a penchant for writing in the late sixties. Since then I have worked at refining those skills and find it very cathardic to express what I'm seeing and feeling about the world around me through the written word.)

. Silent Scream

I'm screaming inside...

a silent scream only I can hear.
It's echo bounces off the walls of my mind.

Down the halls of my psyche it careens,
displaying all the forlorn colors of darkness
as it searchs... for my soul.

With outstretched tentacles
it tugs at my being,
drawing me to
it's empty places.

You know...
those places you go
when you are sad
and feeling like the only
grain of sand left on the beach.
