You Broke My Heart

I thought she was the one
I gave my heart with every lock and key
But when she got it on the golden platter
She just took a knife up and let it shatter
You broke my heart

I had everything figured out
Getting married and then a job
Doing everything for you
But what can I do
Now that you broke my heart

I’m standing here dumbfounded
Everything was okay until now
I don’t even know what happened
So I’m just standing here darkened
You just broke my heart

Swimming around in my tears
I try to go back to the past
To the day that everything broke
And erase every black stroke…
I wish you never broke my heart

I’m trying to hate you
Even if it’s only a little bit
But I see you in every reflection
In my dreams I had the perfect solution
But still you broke my heart

So now every day that comes
I keep struggling to keep myself together
I try to not shut myself in the dark
Doing my best and goes out with the marks
And forget you broke my heart

After a week I stop to cry
A month it takes to smile again
But no matter how long I wait
And how many more days it take
I can never mend my broken heart

So now I have finally made up my mind
I will take my first step outside
Takes my dreams and future in hand
I will make it all real and become so grand
You will forever regret… that you broke my heart
