A Letter To My Daughter

Dear child,
baby I thought it proper to tell you of life
because for every being it's a blink to die.
Life my dear will not know you by name,
but indeed will know you by head,
tell your story in inches of fame
though it will never be heard.
Allow you to sleep and awake with a beautiful dream,
only to sell your soul to make it real.
Grown man will long your youth,
desperation make them bend the truth
only to spend it like coins on telephone booth.
Not will you choose the lessons to learn,
nonetheless most will leave a stain.
Love is a free gift from God,
wrapped by men in diamonds and gold.
Oh my child so many questions in life's flash cards,
one answer - living is hard.
So accept what you cannot change in life,
prepare for what lies beyond every line,
like today you live - someday you will die.
