Siona DoyleMcLaughlin Poems

I love to walk by the seashore,
On the clean white sand so bare,
I love to walk by the rippling waves
For I find refuge there.
...

Hush little child,
Let the tears flow,
Yes...the pain is so real,
How I know. How I know.
...

An apple can look beautiful
With its cherry-red skin,
But that skin can only be beautiful
If there is a core within.
...

A little cottage by the sea
Oh! A wondrous place to be.
A simple structure with wooden walls
Beyond the tumbling ocean calls
...

A life so young
A journey just begun
Like a flower that has only begun to bloom
Only to be trampled on and the life snuffed out
...

Siona DoyleMcLaughlin Biography

Irish-born and raised in Canada for the most part. Poetry for me is an outlet, and I have no formal training in it. I feel true poetry need not meet some perfect pre-determined, formal format. It is truest when it flows and comes from the heart.)

I Love To Walk By The Seashore

I love to walk by the seashore,
On the clean white sand so bare,
I love to walk by the rippling waves
For I find refuge there.

I love to walk by the seashore
When a white fog's in the air;
When a pallid mist o'shadows the beach
And no breeze is stirring there.

I love to walk by the seashore
And watch the waves in motion,
I love the sea in all its moods
For God made the mighty ocean.
